Happy Halloween!
My Halloween costume is the "Save the Clock Tower" lady. For this I needed fliers. Although the scan of the prop that's been out there for free and everyone has (and yet shady people still manage to sell for moneys on evilBay) is completely screen-accurate, the fake filler-text and other details always sort of bugged me on closer inspection. So, I made up my own take on it from scratch, actually writing the articles and so on.
I've decided to share it freely in case anyone else would like to play with it; just print it up on the right shade of blue paper and you're all set.
 click for full-size
For the full 1980s xerox effect you could print it up on white paper, then get that printout photocopied, then copy that copy, and so on until you have a sufficiently degraded image to get copied onto the blue paper.
The photo is 'shopped from this public domain one on Wikimedia commons. This is nonprofit fanart based on an original owned by MCA/Universal, but my own work in this one is released under Creative Commons by/nc/sa. Feel free to take/copy/share/change/hack/remix it freely, just don't sell it.
And if any of you happen to be checking out New York City's Halloween parade, keep an eye out for me!

| Thoughts on the "new and improved" 1985 |
[October 31, 2009 @ 1:52am] |
Okay, by going back to the past and changing things, Marty's created this nice new world. Happier, more successful parents and siblings, a nicer home, Biff not bullying them, all of that. A whole new reality.
But there's a problem with this...
Yea, on the surface, it's all great and wonderful. For them everything's better. Marty thinks everything's better for him too. But I started thinking, "is it REALLY?"
Marty has put himself in a situation.
He's created a world that he doesn't BELONG in. Everyone else has changed, but Marty has not. His memories are of his life with his old family. THESE people, his "new and improved" family are practically strangers to him. He didn't grow up with these people, or in this world. This Marty isn't truely a part this new family.
Would the reality of the situation start to hit Marty later? How would Marty deal with the fact that he has a history and childhood that doesn't even exist anymore? At least not entirely.
Has anyone else ever thought about this? Or am I just crazy and over thinking things? Lol.
